Re-Elect Mayor Laurie Davies
Mayor Davies was elected to the City Council in 2012. Since being in office she has been instrumental in creating Drug Awareness programs that have educated Laguna Niguel teens and parents on the dangers of prescription drugs. She is the Co‐Chair of the Laguna Niguel Military Support Committee, giving her time to raise funds for the families of our Marine's and Sailors.
An avid supporter of the City’s business community, Laurie introduced the SCORE Business Program to the City. SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals through education and mentorship.
Mayor Davies has been a liaison on the Traffic & Transportation Commission since 2012 and serves as a Board of Director on the Toll Road Agency. Davies understands the importance of maintaining Local Control when it comes to State and Federal Issues. In 2015 she was elected President of the Orange County Division of the League of California Cities. She also acts as Chair for the Transportation, Communication and Public Works Policy Committee for the the League of Cities. As League President she worked with the Local, State and Federal Electives to put on a regional workshop on Sober Living Group Homes. The League also sponsored a bill that would bring back more control when it came to the density of these homes. She serves as Chair of the ACC‐ OC Innovation Committee as well as participates in the Legislative Committee.
One of the Mayor Davies’ initiatives for 2016 is to enhance communication with the City’s residents. To that end, she is planning on hosting a series of “Meet the Mayor” events in an informal setting where she can update residents on what’s going on in the city and provide residents the opportunity to share their ideas and suggestions for the City.
